Bridging the Gap

Welcome!

Welcome to the website of the Stuyvesant Student Union! The SU is the student government of Stuyvesant High School, and we aim to bridge the gap between students, faculty, and administration. In doing so, we hope to foster a strong sense of community and improve the experience of every student at Stuyvesant.

On our website, you can learn about some of the projects we're working on, access some academic resources (including textbooks), and contact us with questions and concerns. We also encourage you to follow us on our social media accounts for the most up to date information!

In case you weren’t able to attend Stuyvesant Girl Up, ASPIRA, and BSL’s Talk Circle Around Race two weeks ago, you can click here to access a recording of the meeting as well as action steps and resources.

The SU is hosting the Virtual Spring Club Pub Fair this week! You can view pre-recorded Club videos through this Flipgrid (use your stuy.edu email!) and signup to attend the two days of the live fair (Tuesday and Wednesday, 3-4pm), where you’ll have the chance to visit breakout rooms to learn about different clubs and talk with their leaders. On Monday each SING! will be hosting a special meeting for you to learn about some of the crews you can apply to join. You can find the link to that in the email Shivali sent yesterday.

The School Leadership Team (a group of admin, staff, parents and students that work on educational policy) will be meeting this Tuesday, February 23rd from 5-7 pm. You can sign-up to attend the meeting here. The primary focus of the meeting will be a discussion of Mental Health at Stuyvesant. You can find the agenda attached to this email.

Finally, we want to congratulate Ann Zhang and Justin Chen for winning their respective brackets of our first SU Chess Tournament. Thank you to the 150+ competitors for playing, and we look forward to hosting more tournaments in the future.

Best,

Julian & Shivali
